Cake!

Those of you we’ve discussed the wedding with will be aware that while we are generally following the template for a wedding, we are adding in plenty of personal touches, dropping some of the bits that don’t do it for us and making some swaps along the way too. Today we ordered the cake and it is no different. We appreciate the elegance of the classic wedding cake but for us a cake is there to be eaten and, as people who enjoy a bit of chocolate, we have embraced that when picking our cake. It is going to be the dessert so hopefully you can all enjoy it. In our opinions, elegant looking fruit cake that’s tough enough to be used as a building material wouldn’t cut it, so expect a fairly decadent offering.

We’ve also been hard at work sorting out many of the final touches for the day. George’s suit is sorted, complete with shoes and tie, while Marina’s outfit is also just about finalised. A few more guests still need inviting for the evening, as well as sorting out some snacks to keep everyone fuelled up into the evening.

As always, we are going to task anyone reading this with coming up with some ideas to keep everyone entertained during some of the quieter moments. One of our plans was to have a games table to help break the ice (and the language barrier) with some non-language-dependent games. So far we’re thinking Connect 4, Uno and Jenga, but any suggestions (similar types of games or otherwise) are most welcome.
